| Students, visual artists and graphic designers are invited to create an entry for the 41st annual Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio poster contest. The TCF takes place from May 17-21, 2023 at the historic Guadalupe Theater and Rosedale Park. The winning entry will be used as the primary marketing image for the festival and will appear on promotional materials including event listings, website, social media, poster, t-shirts, and other related merchandise. The popular poster contest includes prizes, with the top award for the contest winner of $2,000, and more opportunities for area artists and students. The top prize winner’s poster will be used for all festival marketing materials for the Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio, scheduled for May 17-21, 2023. Bei diesem Kurs haben Sie die Möglichkeit sich einen ganzen Tag lang mit der Steirischen Harmonika anzufreunden. Sie bekommen von uns eine Schmidt Harmonika als Leihinstrument und machen sich mit der Funktionsweise des Instrumentes vertraut. Schnell werden Sie Zug und Druck des Balges und Basis-Griffe verinnerlicht haben und die ersten unterhaltsamen Stücke erklingen. Bei diesem Workshop sind keinerlei musikalische Vorkenntnisse notwendig! „Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene“ sehen ‐ hören ‐ begreifen ‐ Spaß haben Sowohl für Anfänger als auch Fortgeschrittene, egal ob Volksschüler oder Pensionist.  Herbstkurs 2022 vom 11.11. - 13.11.2022Im Herbst findet der Hummelkurs das erste Mal in einem neuen Domizil auf der Ebernburg in Bad Kreuznach statt. Die schöne alte Burg bietet ein reizvolles Ambiente und eine sehr komfortable Unterbringung - vergleichbar mit dem früheren Wilhelm-Kempf-Haus in Wiesbaden. Wie dort wird das Konzept der Hummel mit seinen Kursen und Instrumental-Workshops weiter bestehen. Es werden für jedes Instrument mehrere Niveaus angeboten. Der Kursunterricht findet vorwiegend in kleinen Gruppen statt - das Niveau wird auf den Kenntnisstand der Teilnehmer/innen abgestimmt. Die Referent/innen der "Hummel" sind erfahrene Musiker/innen und Kursleiter/innen aus dem ganzen Bundesgebiet. Auch Ensemble-Kurse sind im Angebot.  11.11. - 13.11.2022An diesem Wochenende wird mit der Musik Südost-Europas (Balkan) und der Klezmermusik intensiv auseinandgeersetzt. Im Gesangsworkshop Lieder, Melodien und Rhythmen aus Serbien und Montenegro, Bosnien-Herzegowina, Kroatien, Albanien, Bulgarien und dem Kosovo in ihrer regionalen Eigenart, in der persönlichen Klangfarbe und damit in ihrer ganzen Schönheit aufleben. Der Schwerpunkt in den Instrumentalkursen wird eher auf der Klezmermusik liegen, aber auch einige Lieder des Balkan gemeinsam erarbeiten. Es werden traditionelle Tunes gespielt umEinblick in den Kontext zu erhalten , in dem Klezmer entstanden ist. So werden neben traditionellen Stücken, auch aktuelle Interpretationen und Neukompositionen kennengelernt. Das gemeinsame Musizieren im Ensemble steht dabei gleichberechtigt neben der individuellen Weiterentwicklung der eigenen musikalischen Möglichkeiten und Ausdrucksweisen. Im Schwerpunkt bieten diese Tage also Klezmer. Und doch lockt auch immer wieder „der Balkan“ mit seinem Repertoire. Spätestens zur abendlichen Session erschließt sich der Zauber und die ein oder andere Gemeinsamkeit von Klezmer- und Balkan-Musik. | The Tango 5 Ensemble will perform at a chamber concert entitled “Rhythm and Dynamics” in the Bassano Hall at the Kunsthistorisches Museum (picture above) in Vienna, Austria on November 3rd, 2022 at 7.30pm. The ensemble will perform while museum visitors take part in a guided tour and view the "Venus Festival" collection by Peter Paul Rubens. The Tango 5 Ensemble (pictured below) includes Miloš Todorovski (bandoneon), Sophie Heinrich (violin), Andrea Wild (electric guitar), Maria Radutu (piano) and Ivaylo Iordanov (double bass). | Miércoles 30 de noviembre 20.00h Puntual Ciclo de Tango Bebop Club/Buenos Aires En el año 2018 el bandoneonista Federico Pereiro -nominado a los premios Latin Grammy 2021 por 348, su último álum- formó su propio cuarteto junto a los más destacados músicos del género: Juan Pablo Navarro en contrabajo, Ramiro Gallo en violín y Emiliano Greco en piano. Con esta agrupación se presentó en los escenarios más prestigiosos de Buenos Aires y realizó giras por el interior del país y Japón. Los conciertos de la agrupación proponen un recorrido por diferentes autores clásicos así como también la inclusión de algunos temas del propio Federico Pereiro, encargado de los arreglos y la dirección musical del mismo. Nacido en Formosa, Federico Pereiro comenzò sus estudios de bandoneón con el Maestro Julio Pereiro. En la actualidad realiza estudios de armonía y composición con el Maestro Gabriel Senanes. Actuó como solista junto a artistas como Emilio Balcarce, Atilio Stampone, José Colangelo, Osvaldo Berlingeri, Fernando Suárez Paz, Nestor Marconi, Raul Garelo, Osvaldo Piro; también formó parte como solista en la orquesta de Música Argentina “Juan de Dios Filiberto”, integró la Orquesta de Leopoldo Federico, la “Orquesta Escuela de Tango Emilio Balcarce” desempeñando el cargo de guía y solista. En la actualidad, integra la “Orquesta del Tango de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires”,dirigida por Néstor Marconi, Raúl Garello y Juan Carlos Cuacci, como suplente de solista. En 2009, al frente de su agrupación, editó su primer trabajo discográfico titulado Referentes, con la participación de artistas invitados como Raúl Garello, Néstor Marconi, Víctor Lavallen, Emilio Balcarce, Andrés Linetzky y Ramiro Gallo. Fue nominado a los premios Carlos Gardel por su trabajo discográfico Referentes y a los Latin Grammy 2021 por 348. | Sunday 27 NOVEMBer 2022 from 17:30 until 20:00 Kennington Village Centre, Kennington Road, Kennington, Oxford, OX1 5PG Come and have a dance to Blowzabella: a genuinely unique band that makes an inimitable, driving, drone-based wall-of-sound - played with a fabulous sense of melody, rhythmic expertise and sheer feeling. They compose their own music which is influenced by English and European traditional folk music and song. Many of their tunes are “standards” in the modern British/European folk repertoire and are played by people all over the world. Bands across Europe and beyond who experiment with folk music often cite Blowzabella as a major influence. Much loved and respected, there is no one else quite like them. The band is: Andy Cutting – diatonic button accordion; Jo Freya – vocals, saxophone, clarinet; Paul James – vocals, bagpipes, saxophones; David Shepherd – violin; Barn Stradling – bass guitar; Jon Swayne – bagpipes, saxophone The gig is in the late afternoon/early evening so people who travel to see the band can get home at a reasonable time! | CONCERT SAT 12/11 - 8:30 PM A tribute band at Muziekcnetrum Dranouter? Yes, but a very special one with a great story! Jonas Olsson (1965-2010) was a Swedish folk musician from Hälsingland. He was a violinist, guitarist and composer and a very influential figure in Swedish folk. In the 1990s, he founded a folk school on his own, where many musicians took lessons who later found their own way in music. A passionate conductor and arranger, he recorded several records with youth orchestras he had founded, and he was also artistic director of Ethno, an international folk camp for young musicians. Belgian accordionist Wim Claeys (Ambrozijn, Tref, Göze,...) got to know Jonas at Ethno, took entrance exam for the folk school and studied Swedish traditional music with Jonas for a year. The two became good friends and subsequently saw each other every year to play together. Until in 2010, fate struck and Jonas died suddenly, while composing, as a result of a heart vein rupture. Durch die besondere Instrumentierung Tuba, Gitarre und zwei Steirische Harmonikas werden neue Klangfarben entdeckt und Kompositionen geschaffen, die Volksmusikelemente mit Jazzharmonien verbinden, klassische Musik mit pulsierenden Rhythmen beleben und Vertrautes mit Fremdem vermischen.
