| Der Alpen Grand Prix ist ein Musikwettbewerb der „Schlager“ und „Volksmusik“ der seit 1993 jährlich in Südtirol stattfindet. Bis 1996 nahmen ausschließlich nur Interpreten aus Südtirol teil. Seit 1997 ist der Alpen Grand Prix International und Teilnehmer aus Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Italien, Slowenien, Kroatien, Frankreich, Niederlande, Polen, Ungarn und USA haben daran bereits teilgenommen. Die Gesangssprache ist Deutsch. Der Alpen Grand Prix ein Internationaler Musikwettbewerb für Interpreten, Komponisten, Texter, Produzenten und Verlage. In den letzten Jahren gab es beim Alpen Grand Prix getrennte Wertungen für die Bereiche Schlager und Volksmusik. Der Alpen Grand Prix zählt zu einem der bedeutendsten Musikwettbewerb in der Sparte Schlager und Volksmusik. Dass dieser Internationale Musikwettbewerb an Beliebtheit und Wichtigkeit immer mehr zunimmt, bestätigen die vielen Bewerbungen von bekannten Komponisten, Textern und Produzenten. Freude an der Musik und der Wunsch jungen und neuen Künstlern ein Forum zu schaffen, waren die Auslöser dieses allseits beliebten Internationalen Musikwettbewerbs, aus dem schon viele erfolgreiche Interpreten hervorgegangen sind. Die „GrenzGänger *GG* “ sind eine junge Gruppe aus dem Gail- und Drautal. Ihr Ziel ist es auf diversen Veranstaltungen die Jugend von der Disco auf den Tanzboden zu bringen. Nicht nur die Jugend sondern alle Generationen sollen sich am Tanzboden wohlfühlen. „Auf gut Deutsch ist für jeden etwas dabei“. Rien moins que cinq artificiers majeurs de la boîte à boutons, lesquels chacun sur leur registre (trad, folk, liscio, musique Irlandaise, jazz, musique de films....) ont fait notablement avancer la cause de l’accordéon diatonique.  The Roland V-Accordion evening competition and concert at the prestigious Auditorium Parco Della Musica opened with the talented brothers Alessandro and Gabriele Guglielmi, 9 and 11 years of age (photo above), who performed a program of great sounding music complete with backing tracks and choreography using the new Roland diatonic accordions. Next came the international V-Accordion competition and full details of this event and the results are in the Daily Reports at 2011 Rome Festival. The ‘Taranta’, a folk dance group, featuring Danilo Di Paolonicola on diatonic accordion featured excellent playing by Danilo plus backing tracks and the ‘Taranta’, a folk dance group. The driving sound and very visual costumes of the ‘Taranta’ dance group was very enjoyable viewing and listening.  Akkordeon- & Harmonika-Wochenende 2. - 4. Dezember 2011 In Kooperation mit Servais Haanen Mit seinem Akkordeonale Festival präsentiert der Niederländer Servais Haanen 2011 zum dritten Mal in einer Konzertreihe die wunderbare Welt des Akkordeons.Eigentlich kann man aber gar nicht von "dem" Akkordeon sprechen: Da das Instrument immer wieder umgebaut, verändert, verfeinert und an die lokalen Bedürfnisse angepasst wurde, entstanden verschiedene Instrumententypen, die sich durch unterschiedliche Systeme, Größen, Form, Tonumfang und Spieltechnik unterscheiden. Mehr oder weniger liebevoll tituliert als Quetschkommode, Schifferklavier, Schweineorgel, Zerrwanst, Ziach oder Blasebalg der Hölle besitzen sie mindestens ebenso viel Charme wie Namen. Wie kaum ein zweites Instrument hat sich das vergleichsweise junge Akkordeon (erfunden 1829) in kurzer Zeit über Landes- und Kontinentalgrenzen hinweg verbreitet. Durch massenweisen Export in die Kolonien und eingeschleppt im Handgepäck von Emigranten hat es sich einen festen Platz in der Musik der ganzen Welt erobert.   VINICIO CAPOSSELA Marinai, Profeti e Balene Teatro delle Muse Mercoledì 2 novembre, ore 21,15 Il 14 Ottobre riparte il tour teatrale di VINICIO CAPOSSELA “MARINAI PROFETI E BALENE” Riparte il 14 ottobre dal Teatro Grande di Brescia il tour teatrale di “MARINAI, PROFETI E BALENE” di VINICIO CAPOSSELA, che prevede più di venti tappe tra ottobre e dicembre. La lunga e pressoché ininterrotta tournée iniziata lo scorso aprile al Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, con oltre 20.000 spettatori nel breve periodo del tour di presentazione e altrettante presenze registrate durante il tour che nell'estate ha toccato porti, anfiteatri e luoghi del mito, riprenderà il 14 ottobre da Brescia e si concluderà a Trieste il 22 dicembre, dopo aver portato a termine l'intero periplo della penisola. Opera sul fato, sul destino, sul mare come mitologia e scenario del folle volo umano verso “virtute e canoscenza”, “MARINAI, PROFETI E BALENE” - doppio disco di inediti pubblicato lo scorso 26 aprile (La Cupa/Warner) - è uno dei dischi italiani di maggior successo di quest'anno: disco d'oro a due mesi dall'uscita, a poche miglia da quello di platino, undici settimane consecutive nella Top Ten e neo vincitore della TARGA TENCO quale miglior album del 2011 (terza Targa Tenco come miglior album dell’anno per Vinicio Capossela, dopo ‘Canzoni a manovella’ nel 2001 e ‘Ovunque proteggi’ nel 2006). Antique Accordion in New Movie at Shepperton Studios, Bucks – UKby Rob Howard |
 An antique Russian-made button accordion owned by Scottish-based collector Caroline Hunt, dated about 1890, has been loaned to Shepperton Studios for its film star role in the forthcoming film 'Anna Karenina' with Jude Law and Kiera Knightley. Caroline says, “After a lot of restoration (it was in many bits) thanks to John Crawford and a kind local joiner who made a replacement fretwork grill and a lot of polish on the brass fittings, it is now looking pretty good”. 'Anna Karenina', to be filmed in the UK and Russia, will be released in 2012. Caroline Hunt has a large collection of old accordions, some of which are on public display at Bogbain Farm, Inverness IV2 5BD, Scotland. | Over the years many exciting bands have performed at Copenhagen Irish Festival. Many new names have been introduced and later became well known to fans of traditional Irish music all over Europe. The history started more than 30 years ago at a small venue called Vognhjulet (the Wagon Wheal.) It was there on the first weekend in November that an Irish-Scottish folk music festival was held. The weekend was organized by members of a small local band called Scrumpy. The highlight was the inclusion of a genuine Irish band. Those who were there will likely remember Mary Bergin’s performance. The audience was enthralled by her flute playing and many returned the following year expecting more new and talented performers. In the years that followed, the festival grew and in 1988, ten years after the first Irish-Scottish weekend, the 4 organizers decided to extend the weekend to include Thursday and Friday as well. They also changed the name from simply the Irish/Scottish weekend to The Copenhagen Irish Festival. To better handle organization of the growing festival, two additional members were added to the existing 4 committee members. Everyone, unpaid committee members and volunteers, work very hard during the festival while maintaining their regular day jobs as well. Their special love for Irish music is what sustains the festival year after year. In addition to music, the festival attempts to include annually an art exhibition, lectures, film and/or workshops. A reoccurring problem has been finding a suitable concert hall in the center of Copenhagen. The venue needs back stage facilities for the artists as well as rooms that can serve as a café. For several years, a very nice concert hall and rooms were rented in an old building in the center of Copenhagen. But, unfortunately, this is no longer possible. This year the Festival Café will be at the PH Café, Halmtorvet, where the jam sessions and other smaller events will take place. Kepa Junkera & Band (Spanien) zum zweiten Mal erlebt das maritimste aller Instrumente in Hamburg ein echtes Heimspiel: Bei der Neuauflage des Elbphilharmonie Festivals “Akkordeonist!” holen wir euch die spannendste Auswahl der internationalen Akkordeonisten-Szene ins Haus – Kepa Junkera aus Bilbao macht den Anfang. Er vollbringt das Kunststück, die in Jahrhunderten entstandene baskische Musik so weiterzuentwickeln und mit dem Wissen des 21. Jahrhunderts zu verbinden, dass seine Kompositionen voller Witz, Würze und Originalität sind. Nie verschließt der Grammy-Preisträger die Ohren vor neuen Klängen und Kulturen. Mit amerikanischen Jazzern wie Pat Metheny arbeitet er ebenso zusammen, wie mit den Chieftains oder der brasilianischen Tropicalismo-Legende Caetano Veloso. Er ist Gast bei großen Weltmusikfestivals, darunter das Getxo Folk Festival und 2010 veröffentlichte er die CD “Habana Sessions” mit Rolando Luna, dem Pianisten der Gruppe Buena Vista Social Club. Mi 9.11. Riccardo Tesi & Banditaliana/Italien das Akkordeon ist das Chamäleon unter den Instrumenten, dank seiner Anpassungsfähigkeit hat es sich auf der ganzen Welt verbreitet – eine Evolution, für die der Hamburger Hafen, das Tor zur Welt, eine entscheidende Rolle gespielt hat. Zum zweiten Akkordeon Festival haben wir Riccardo Tesi zu Gast, der uns frische und sonnige Musik aus der Toskana mitbringt. Gemeinsam mit seiner Banditaliana erweckt der Träger des BBC World Music Awards, alte Lieder und Tänze aus seiner Heimat zu neuem Leben. Seit 30 Jahren haucht er dem Liscio, dem italienischen Walzer, immer wieder neues Leben ein, indem er alte Lieder in Verbindung mit anderen Folklore-Stücken aus dem Süden Italien bringt.  Die HARMONICA MASTERS WORKSHOPS auch im Jahr 2011 weiterführen zu können ist eines der Highlights im Trossinger Kulturgeschehen.Dieses Ereignis von internationalem Zuschnitt findet im Herbst 2011 zum siebten Mal in Trossingen statt. Die Kleinstadt im östlichen Schwarzwald, Hauptsitz des renommierten Zungeninstrumenten-Herstellers Hohner, der 2007 sein 150. Firmenjubiläum dort feierte, ist seit vielen Jahren Schauplatz für Mundharmonika Events von internationalem Rang. Diese in Europa einzigartige Veranstaltung verbindet mehrtägige Seminare eines internationalen Dozententeams aus Spielern und Pädagogen der absoluten Spitzenklasse, mit Konzertabenden und Sessions. Sie bietet den Teilnehmern die einmalige Gelegenheit, ihr Instrument unter der Leitung von einigen der besten Spieler der Gegenwart zu studieren, sich die Tricks und Kniffe der Profis aus nächster Nähe abzuschauen und mit ihnen in einer freundlichen und entspannten Atmosphäre auch Zeit zu verbringen. The HARMONICA MASTERS WORKSHOPS once again promise to be one of Trossingen's cultural highlights for 2011. In November, this internationally renowned event takes place in Trossingen for the 7th time. The small town in the beautiful Black Forest region of Southern Germany is the headquarters of renowned reed instrument manufacturer Hohner. The company celebrated its 150th jubilee there in 2007 and Trossingen has hosted countless international harmonica events. The Harmonica Masters Workshops are without parallel in Europe and combine classes taught by a world class team of instructors with evening concerts and sessions. They offer players the unique opportunity to study their instrument over a period of several days under the guidance of some of today’s master players as well as hanging out with them in the evenings and watching them in action at close quarters.  Vom 25. bis 27. November 2011 findet im schönen Sertigtal GR ein Seminar für Steirische Harmonika mit Musiklehrer Renato Allenspach statt. Infos zum Hotel: Walserhuus, Davos-Sertig Anmeldung direkt unter: www.kursinfo.ch http://www.musikhaus-allenspach.ch/62/Seminare.html Schon als Kind wurde Renato Allenspach hellhörig beim speziellen Klang und dem prägnanten an der Musik der Steirischen Harmonika . Er besuchte in dieser Zeit den Akkordeonunterricht der örtlichen Musikschule, die Steirische Harmonika blieb vorerst ein Wunsch im Hinterkopf. Als er dann später selber mit dem Erteilen von Musikunterricht auf dem Akkordeon und dem Schwyzerörgeli begann, drang nach einigen Jahren dann doch der Wunsch durch, das Spiel auf der „Steirischen“ zu erlernen und selbst ein Instrument zu besitzen. Sein Ziel war es, das Instrument absolut seriös zu erlernen und später auch so weiterzugeben. Da es in der Schweiz beinah niemanden gab, der „Steirische“ spielte, holte er schon früh Impulse, Tipps und Anregungen in Österreich an diversen Veranstaltungen und Musikantentreffen und nahm an Wettbewerben teil. Dort lernte er auch einige sehr gute, in der Szene bekannte, Spieler persönlich kennen. Zugute kam ihm natürlich auch, dass er grösstenteils mit dieser Musikrichtung aufgewachsen war. Mittlerweile betreibt er, zusammen mit seiner Frau, in Kirchberg SG ein Musikgeschäft. Es besuchen sehr viele Leute verschiedenen Alters (vereinzelt sogar aus dem benachbartem Österreich) den Unterricht auf der „Steirischen“ bei ihm. Seine Musikschüler und Kollegen waren es dann auch, die Ihn ermuntert haben die CD-Produktion "Total Steirisch" zu realisieren.  für alle Akkordeon- und Harmonikainstrumente Servais Haanen möchte mit seinem Workshop allen Akkordeon-Spieler/innen einen Blick hinter die Bühne der „Akkordeonale“ gewähren. Die von ihm komponierten und arrangierten Ensemblestücke des Festivals werden in kleiner und großer Besetzung bearbeitet, geprobt und aufgeführt. Servais möchte zeigen, wie man mit wenig Aufwand zu einem super Ergebnis kommen kann und richtet sich mit seinem Workshop an alle Niveaus – vom Anfänger bis zum Profi, ob man nun als Einzelkämpfer oder im Akkordeon-Orchester unterwegs ist. Und die ganze Familie ist willkommen – von der Konzertina über Ziehharmonika, Bandoneon bis chromatisches Knopf- oder Pianoakkordeon. Im Mittelpunkt steht die besondere Erfahrung, während eines Wochenend-Workshops mit knapp zwei Probentagen und einem abschließenden Workshop-Konzert etwas ganz Neues gemeinsam auf die Bühne zu bringen! Seguirà poi la fase dell'arrangiamento e della strutturazione formale fino alla cura degli aspetti legati alla esecuzione e l'interpretazione.  Eine Handvoll Blues Verrückte in Luzern. Sie lieben ihre Musik, sie lieben Konzerte – aber es gibt in der Schweiz kaum Möglichkeiten, wahren, echten Blues live zu erleben. So entsteht die Idee, ein eigenes Bluesfestival zu organisieren. 1995 ist es soweit: Die Initiatoren präsentieren mit einem Budget von nur 35'000 Franken im Rollerpalast das erste Lucerne Blues Festival.Von vielen werden sie als Spinner belächelt, dem Festival werden wenig Überlebenschancen gegeben. Die Idealisten lassen aber nicht locker – die Lacher geraten ins Staunen, die Anerkennung nimmt Jahr für Jahr zu, die Zuschauerzahlen steigen stetig an. Nach der Schliessung des Rollerpalasts findet man 1997 im Casino Luzern eine ideale neue Heimat. Mittlerweile dauern die Aktivitäten des Festivals mit einem grossen Rahmenprogramm bereits über eine Woche. 29 Konzerte von 12 Künstlern werden durchgeführt. Die öffentlichen Vorstellungen sind bis auf den letzten Platz ausverkauft. Das Budget ist auf rund 1 Million Franken geklettert. Das Lucerne Blues Festival ist heute eine Institution und gilt unter Kennern als eines der weltweit kompetentesten und bedeutendsten Blues Festivals. Zur Hauptsache liegt das an der Philosophie (siehe auch Das Festival), dank der jedes Jahr erneut ein Programm der Spitzenklasse entsteht. Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience Seine Familie zählt zu den ersten kreolischen Einwanderern im Gebiet des St. Landry Parish (Louisiana). Dass der 1965 geborene Terrance Simien damit den Zauber der Zydeco-Klangwelt eines Clifton Chenier oder Geno Delafose in den Genen hat, ist klar. Mit 18 wurde Terrance Berufsmusiker, mit 20 stand er mit Sarah Vaughn und Fats Domino auf der Bühne. 1987 wurde er weltweit bekannt dank seiner Musik im Kultfilm „The Big Easy“. Seither betört der Akkordeonspieler mit einer Stimme, die an Sam Cooke erinnert. Als Studio- und Begleitmusiker hat Simien mit Stevie Wonder, Robert Palmer, Dr. John oder Paul Simon gearbeitet. Sein Wirken als Solist und Bandleader wird respektiert, sein Wort zählt: Auf seine Anregung hin wurde der mythische Zydeco-Sound zur eigenständigen „Grammy“-Kategorie. Das ist gut, und dass Simien als begnadeter Fürsprecher 2008 die Trophäe selbst gewann, ist eine Story, wie sie nur der Blues schreibt. ………………. Johnny Sansone Die virtuose Technik Sansones an der Hand- und an der Mundharmonika, seine Stimme, die das Mississippi-Delta herzaubert und seine Bühnenpräsenz, um die ihn mancher Weltstar beneiden könnte, sind Extraklasse.1989 stieg er bei „Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters“ ein. Mittlerweile hat er acht CDs unter seinem Namen eingespielt, wovon zwei mit Star-Produzent Kim Wilson. Nach „Katrina“ schloss sich Sansone den „Voices From The Wetlands“ an, um mit Dr. John, Tab Benoit, George Porter Jr., und vielen anderen famosen Musikern aus New Orleans als Botschafter der Crescent City Konzerte zu geben und Tourneen zu absolvieren. Johnny ist ein perfekter Zydeco-Musiker. Zydeco hat in den Swamps von Louisiana auch heute noch einen sehr grossen Stellenwert und es existieren eigentliche Dynastien von Künstlern, die ihr Können jeweils an ihre Söhne weitergeben.  Spezialkurs für Instrumente mit 12 Bässen und Halbtönen mit Jan Budweis Dies ist ein Kurs für die "Großen" unter den "kleinen" Handharmonikas: Voraussetzung ist ein diatonisches (wechseltöniges) Akkordeon in G/C ohne Gleichtöner mit mindestens 5 Knöpfen in einer 3. (Halbton-)Reihe auf der Melodieseite und 12 Köpfen auf der Bass-Seite. Gegenüber dem 2-Reiher erweitert sich das Repertoire dieser Instrumente durch die zusätzlichen Töne und Akkorde, so dass neben den gewohnten weitere Tonarten entdeckt werden können. Wie diese neuen Möglichkeiten kreativ und spielerisch in das eigene Spiel integrieret werden können, ist Thema dieses Kurses. Anhand von Stücken aus Folk- und Weltmusik wollen wir die Chromatik auf unserem Instrument erforschen, uns mit dem Erarbeiten von 2. Stimmen und verschiedenen Begleitmustern beschäftigen und einfache Arrangements für Solisten und/oder Gruppe erspielen.  Dieser Aufbaukurs von 10-13. November richtet sich an alle, die mit dem Mundharmonikaspiel angefangen und erste Grunderfahrungen mit dem Instrument gesammelt haben. Auch alle Musikfreunde sind eingeladen, die irgendwann einen Einstiegskurs gemacht haben und nun wieder einmal Zeit und Lust zum Musizieren haben. Wir werden uns mit verschiedenen Musikrichtungen befassen, vor allem Folk, Blues und Country.Es werden Kenntnisse vermittelt, die zum sicheren Spiel führen, u .a. Atemtechnik, Melodiespiel, Soundeffekte wie Vibrato und Tremolo. Je nach Interessen werden wir uns auch mit dem Biegen von Tönen (“bending“) beschäftigen. Zwischendurch wird es die Möglichkeit geben, zusammen zur Gitarrenbegleitung des Dozenten Mundharmonika zu spielen und dabei die Vielfältigkeit und Ausdruckskraft dieses Instruments zu erleben.  Die Pizzica aus Salento, Süditalien mit Donatello Pisanello Ziel des Workshops ist die Vermittlung der melodischen, harmonischen und rhythmischen Grundlagen der Pizzica, der typischen Tarantella von der Halbinsel Salento in Apulien im äußersten Südosten Italiens. Darüber hinaus untersuchen wir die prägenden Aspekte der traditionellen Musik durch das Studium der wichtigsten Melodien aus einem breiten Repertoire. Die Lehrmethode stützt sich auf die "mündliche Überlieferung" mit besonderer Aufmerksamkeit auf der Wahrnehmung des Klangs und dem Zuhören als Formen des Lernens. Eine partielle Zusammenarbeit mit dem Tarantella-Tanzkurs könnte sich ergeben. Benötigt wird ein diatonisches Akkordeon mit 8 Bässen in G/C. Donatello Pisanello, Taviano (Italien), Multiinstrumentalist und Filmkomponist. Mit seiner Band „Officina Zoè“ trug er wesentlich bei zur Erneuerung der Pizzica, der Tarantella des Salento im äußersten Südosten Italiens.  David Munnelly is form the most westerly town of Belmullet in County Mayo and born into a musical family growing up listening to the singing and accordion playing of his Grandmother and the lilting of his grandfather he was surrounded by music from very early on.At the age of 7 David picked up the accordion from listening to the playing of an Uncle and from there continued to show great interest in Traditional music. After going to college in Dublin for a few years David was fortunate to be asked to join a band with Niamh Parsons whom he toured with for six years and after a few years playing and touring with such notaries as Gerry O Connor, Garry o Brian, Dedannan and the Chieftains in 1999 he set up the David Munnelly band with the recording of his debut Cd titled Swing.  A course styled ‘British Button Box Workshop Weekend’ takes place at Halsway Manor, Somerset, from May 25th to 27th 2012, led by John Kirkpatrick.John Kirkpatrick leads a series of workshops for players of the 3-row British chromatic button accordion - the quirky instrument that was taken round the world in the first class hands of Jimmy Shand. The right hand has three melodeon (diatonic) rows in B, C, and C#, and the left hand side has a stradella bass system. John will be starting out from his very firm base in Traditional English Folk Music, so the style and approach will be quite different from the Scottish Country Dance repertoire made famous by Jimmy Shand and his many followers. This weekend is also very instrument specific, and will not be suitable for ordinary melodeons, nor for players of the 2-row Irish style. But there will be sessions on the accordion's left hand, so players of other styles of accordion can be included. As well as covering the expected fields of Morris tunes, Country Dance tunes, and folk songs, John will also be looking at the complexities of playing in all the keys available on this gloriously compact instrument, and exploring swathes of repertoire that may not be immediately associated with the poor old push-pull squeeze-box! Whether you've been playing five minutes or fifty years, this is a great opportunity to come and learn at the feet of one of England's most dedicated and respected musicians. John Kirkpatrick is widely acknowledged as the British folk scene’s best and busiest accordionist, constantly in demand at folk clubs and festivals as a performer and workshop leader, and also in the theatre and recording studios as a session musician.
