 MASTERCLASS e WORKSHOP di FISARMONICA DIATONICA al Festiva di Castelfidardo.Via Mazzini, 11 presso l'Area Music & Co. SABATO 9 OTTOBRE dalle 9.00 alle 13.00 e dalle 15.00 alle 17.00 DOCENTI: Antonio Spaccarotella e Danilo Di Paolonicola In lingua italiana e inglese. Per effettivi e uditori Il corso si rivolge a musicisti di fisarmonica diatonica di livello base o avanzato. È previsto un numero massimo di 10 studenti effettivi e di 60 uditori. Lo stage è rivolto a tutti coloro che suonano l'organetto ( 2, 4, 8, 12 e 18 bassi) che vogliono migliorare l'aspetto tecnico e interpretativo e ampliare il loro repertorio. Possono accedere allo stage anche coloro che non leggono la musica e che non hanno una preparazione particolare sullo strumento. L'argomento principale dello stage sarà la Musica (etnica e popolare). Lo stage sarà suddiviso in due parti: teorica e pratica. • Nella prima parte verranno affrontati i seguenti argomenti: costruzione degli accordi, delle scale, funzioni armoniche, trasporto melodico, analisi dei ritmi più utilizzati, analisi della partitura, cenni sull'improvvisazione. • La seconda parte sarà dedicata quasi esclusivamente allo strumento: utilizzo del mantice (dinamiche, effetti, etc.), armonizzazione dei bassi, gli accordi possibili con la mano destra (a seconda dello strumento utilizzato), lo studio delle articolazioni, effettistica dello strumento, come migliorare la propria tecnica in breve tempo, perfezionamento dei brani già assimilati, saltarello abruzzese (lo studio fraseologico, espressivo e stilistico, utilizzo dei bassi, accenti, l'utilizzo del mantice, effetti, introduzione di figurazioni ritmiche e pattern melodici, improvvisazione sul saltarello).  Die Neuauflage des Bandoneon Festivals Krefeld wird am Samstag, 25. September 2010, 20 Uhr, auf der Studiobühne 2 des Kulturzentrums der Fabrik Heeder beginnen. Weitere Konzerte werden am 29. September , 4., 6., 8. und 10. Oktober angeboten.Vor nunmehr über 150 Jahren entwickelte der Krefelder Heinrich Band das nach ihm benannte Bandoneon.1821 in Krefeld geboren übernahm Heinrich Band das kleine Musikaliengeschäft seines Vaters, 1844 inserierte er erstmals 40-56 tönige Accordions, die wieder eingetroffen seien. Dass Band diese Instrumente aus Sachsen bezog, ist unstrittig, aber er verkaufte diese Instrumente nie als Bandonions, den Namen gab es noch nicht. Heinrich Band begann, Veränderungen an den gelieferten Instrumenten vorzunehmen. Er lebte in einer Zeit, die geradezu versessen war auf neue Klangfarben und Instrumente. 1848 heißt es in einer Anzeige von Heinrich Band, "durch eine neue Erfindung haben wir unsere Accordien wieder bedeutend vervollkommnet". Es ist belegt, das der Absatz sich sprunghaft gesteigert hat und ein Konkurrent von Band, Heinrich Schmitz, glaubte, auf den Zug geschäftlichen Erfolgs aufspringen zu können. Er inseriert "Accordion's und Concertina's, die von einigen auch wohl Bandonions genannt werden". Dies verdeutlicht, daß "Bandonion" zu einer Qualitätsbezeichnung innerhalb der Harmonikainstrumente geworden ist, die von den normalen Accordions aus Sachsen unterscheiden soll. Das erste Bandoneon gelangte wahrscheinlich 1855 nach Amerika, allerdings nicht in das damals noch tangofreie Argentinien, sondern in die USA. Ein Krefelder Auswanderer, Wilhelm Seyffardt, bat seinen Bruder, er möge ihm doch ein Accordion schicken, und zwar auf jeden Fall ein "Bandonion". Irgendwann und irgendwie gelangte das Bandoneon nach Südamerika. Eine der zahlreichen, aber nicht mehr belegbaren Legenden über den Weg des Instruments nach Argentinien berichtet von einem englischen Matrosen, der es statt des geforderten Liebeslohns in einem argentinischen Bordell hinterließ. Seine Modulationsfähigkeit, Ausdruckskraft und Klangfarbe machten das Bandoneon zum "leading instrument in modern Argentine tango orchestras", wie die Enzyclopaedie Britannica anmerkt. Ein Kenner des Tangos sagte: "Buenos Aires hat seit seiner Entstehung auf das Bandoneon gewartet, so wie die Pampa seit tausenden von Jahren auf das Pferd". In Buenos Aires entstand die erste Hochburg des Tangos um 1910 in dem Hafenviertel La Boca. In Deutschland wurde das Bandoneon schnell zu einem geselligen Instrument. Die Spieler schlossen sich zu Vereinen zusammen, diese zu Bünden. Bald gab es öffentliche Konzertveranstaltungen, Wettspiele, Partnerschaften zwischen Brudervereinen, Bundestage mit Großkonzerten und Abschlußbällen, Fachzeitschriften, sogar Unterstützungskassen für gestohlene und beschädigte Instrumente. Nach 1930 verliert das Bandoneon in Deutschland an Bedeutung. Das gleichtönige Pianoakkordeon wird beliebtestes Harmonikainstrument in Europa. Die großen südamerikanischen Tangointerpreten aber spielen weiterhin auf ihren alten, geliebten Bandoneons. Das Kulturbüro möchte mit dem Bandoneon-Festival die Verbindung zwischen dem Krefelder Heinrich Band und dem Hauptinstrument des Tangos aufzeigen. Nach einem Festival 1985 wurde das Thema wieder im Jahre 1996 aufgenommen und erzielte eine so große Resonanz bei Publikum und Fachwelt, so dass seitdem alle zwei Jahre ein Bandoneon-Festival das kulturelle Leben Krefelds bereichert. Dabei hat das Bandoneon nicht nur seinen Platz in der Tango-Musik gefunden: Sein Facettenreichtum lässt es auch in den Bereichen der Weltmusik, der Klassik und des Jazz erklingen. Im Mittelpunkt des Festivals steht aber immer das Instrument des Krefelders Heinrich Band und dessen virtuose Spieler und Spielerinnen. Online translation !   English: 'De Muse' is situated in a historic building in the center of Malden. In 1855 it was built as an extension to the then rectory (1799) to be used as a primary school. Subsequently including barns and hay lofts it was used as a farm house in the years 1910 till 1979. Allowed to fall in total disarray, it took extensive re-building and re-furbishment to bring it up to the standard requiered for our goal, which are three independent activities. The museum shop, Henk Kuik's accordion business and the museum restaurant are situated on the ground floor. The entire first floor is reserved for the Accordion and Harmonica Museum. Deutsch: 'De Muse' wurde in einem historischen Gebäude im Herzen des schönen Dörfleins Malden, in der Nähe von der Stadt Nijmegen errichtet. Im Jahre 1855 wurde es als Grundschule an das damalige Pfarrhaus (1799) angebaut. Danach wurde es von 1910 bis 1979 als Bauernhof mit Ställen und Heuboden benutzt. Nach einem weitgehenden Umbau ist das Gebäude heute eine Kombination von drei Aktivitäten. Im Erdgeschoss befinden sich das Akkordeon-spezialgeschäft. 'Henk Kuik Accordeons', zugleich das Museumsgeschäft und das Museumscafé. Das ganze Obergeschoss ist reserviert für das Akkordeon- und Harmonikamuseum Dutch: .. het enige Accordeon-en Harmonica Museum in Nederland. Een bonte verzameling instrumenten is er permanent te bezichtigen. Naast een uitgebreide collectie accordeons, harmonica's, concertina's, bandonions en (mond-) harmonica's vindt u in het museum ook enkele speeldozen en kleine draaiorgeltjes (tong-orgeltjes). Tevens staat er een echte Casali Cilinderpiano. . ... een unieke combinatie van een museum, een museum/muziek-café, een accordeonspeciaalzaak en een reparatieatelier. Deze onderdelen vullen elkaar uitstekend aan en maken 'De Muse' tot een plek waar zoveel mogelijk kennis op het gebied van accordeons en hun familieleden verzameld is. In dit kleine, maar gezellige museum proberen we u een overzicht te geven van het ontstaan en de ontwikkeling van de familie der balg-instrumenten in al hun facetten. Of men zelf accordeon speelt of niet, een bezoek aan 'De Muse' is in alle opzichten de moeite waard! ... gevestigd in een historisch pand in het hartje van Malden. In 1855 werd het tegen de toenmalige pastorie (1799) aangebouwd als lagere school. Vervolgens was het van 1910 tot 1976 in gebruik als boerderij, compleet met stallen en hooizolder. Na een ingrijpende verbouwing is het pand geschikt gemaakt voor ons huidige doel: een combinatie van drie elkaar overlappende aktiviteiten. Op de begane grond bevinden zich de Accordeonspeciaalzaak van Henk Kuik Accordeons, tevens de Museumwinkel en het Museumcafé. | Tejano accordionist Esteban ‘Steve’ Jordan (1939-2010) died on August 13th of complications from liver cancer. He was 71 years old. Known as ‘El Parche’ because of his eye patch, the innovative Steve Jordan started his career in the 1960s, and incorporated rock, Latin, Zydeco, jazz, blues and salsa into Tejano’s traditional polkas and rancheras. He developed new techniques on the diatonic accordion and introduced electronic sounds and devices into his playing. A multi instrumentalist, Jordan was reputed to play 35 different instruments. Born in Texas to migrant farm workers and partially blinded as an infant, Jordan was unable to work in the fields. At a very young age he was introduced to the accordion, and was influenced by the accordionist Valerio Longoria, and went on to become one of the best known players of his genre, both nationally and internationally. In 1986 he was nominated for a Grammy, but lost out to his old friend Flaco Jiménez. He appeared in the film ‘Texas Conjunto: Música de la gente’, a documentary about Texas conjunto music, and in ‘True Stories’, a movie musical film, and also appeared as an accordion street player in the film ‘Born in East L.A.’.  After I made an appointment to see John Baricevich (Barry) on February 21st, 2010, I called my two accordion buddies, Ray Oreggia and Mike Zeppetella, and cued them in and both said “Yeah, we’re also coming.” Yes, everybody loves to visit John.Going to the John’s waterfront Sea Cliff domicile is always a great event especially if you are an accordionist. Going there becomes a “gab fest” about accordions, accordionists, accordion events and music in general. You never get bored and, make sure that you don’t have other appointments because a planned short visit becomes open ended. It’s fun, entertaining, educational and becomes “an event.” Our visit was no exception - we talked, we ate and then we jammed. Five and a half hours later we were exchanging goodbyes. In his own way John, over the years, has become a legend on Long Island because of his vast accordion collection. You name the brand and even the model and he probably might have it. Piano accordions, button boxes, chromatic accordions (two row, three row etc.), new ones, old ones, antique accordions, reeds, accordion parts - yes - they’re all there! In 1996 after the death of Giulio Giulietti, John and his wife Anne made five visits to Mrs. Giulietti and on each excursion filled their car to capacity with Giulietti accordions which he still has. When I asked John “How many accordions do you have?” He kind of hesitated, thought and said “Well, I started counting them one time but then gave up.” “Well, I reiterated, about how many do you have?” “Maybe 300, no 350, no 375.” was his reply. “I sold a lot of them. Maybe I used to have well over 400.” John Baricevich was born in New York City in 1928. His mom was from Slovenia and dad was from the island of Ilovik (Sveti Petar / San Piero), Croatia. He attended Chelsea Vocational High School, a trade school, and he became an expert in auto mechanics. He served in the Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948 and his mechanical expertise resulted in his being selected for working in the motor pool shop. He served eighteen months in Tsingao, China as part of the occupational force after World War II. He has lived in Sea Cliff (Long Island), NY since 1956 where he established himself as an excellent car mechanic and accordion collector. He never really studied the accordion formally and always played by ear. He received his first accordion at the age of ten – a two row - Hohner button box. Over the years he has played parties with many different performers and friends and in recent years was part of an annual “accordion fest weekend” at Villa Vosilla in the Catskill Mountains in New York. John started collecting instruments about the year that he got married (1955). That first instrument was a Baldini and Bartoli accordion. He says that he has an accordion in his collection that could be about 100 years old. He has sold instruments to many professional musicians. Noted among these is Canadian accordionist and Grammy nominee Walter Ostanek who bought a white three row Strasse button box from him. John welcomes your visit to see his collection!   Swedish diatonic player Lars Karlsson and the Norwegian bayan player Øivind Farmen will tour in Sweden and Norway in September 11-15th. Lars Karlsson, from a folk music background, was Nordic Diatonic Champion in 1993, and active as both a player and a composer.   Charles was raised in a traditional Cajun family household in Beaumont, Texas. His parents were Church Point, Louisiana natives and for their wedding celebration and dance, Iry LeJeune provided the entertainment. His parents spoke French around the house when they didn’t want the kids to understand what they were saying but the kids understood it anyway.Charles’s late cousin, Joe Thibodeaux, owned the Rodair Club in Port Acres Texas. During his youth, he visited the legendary club on a regular basis and was influenced to play the Cajun accordion by watching Andrew Cormier and The Rambling Aces band which included Rodney LeJeune, Dallas Roy and many other famous Cajun musicians. At age 16, a friend gave him a used accordion that had a couple of keys missing. It had tape over the holes and reeds that wouldn’t play. After saving up his money, he bought an inexpensive Hohner but got side tracked away from his music for many years. While visiting an uncle in Church Point in the early 90’s, Charles mentioned that he was shopping for an accordion. His uncle walked him through the pasture, and over to the house next door and Charles bought a Pointe Noir in the key of C from the famous accordion builder, Dick Richard. He also plays 2 Martin accordions in the keys of D and B flat. Charles formed a traditional Cajun Band in the Spring of 2004 for a group of Mardi Gras enthusiasts and they have since, thrilled audiences throughout the State of Texas and they continue to Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler—Let the Good Times Roll in Austin! Da ein beträchtlicher Teil der Teilnehmer aus dem Norden Süddeutschlands kam, entschloss man sich, eine der beiden Treffen weiter nach Norden auf die Tannenburg zu verlagern. Die Tannenburg liegt ziemlich zentral im Dreieck Stuttgart - Würzburg - Ulm bzw in der Mitte zwischen Karlsruhe/Mannheim und Nürnberg. | “The Big Squeeze"-the 2nd Annual Orange County Accordion Festival returns to the Orange County Market Place in Costa Mesa on Sunday, October 10, 2010. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 PM in conjunction with all of the swap meet activities at the O.C. Fair & Event Center. Main stage acts will include three Southern California based bands. They include Slugger O’Toole, a traditional Irish quintet featuring Johnny McKenna on button accordion at 11 a.m. to 12: 15 p.m.; Conjunto Los Pochos with Otono Lujan on diatonic button accordion performing traditional and original Texas and Mexico conjunto music styles from 12:45 p.m. to 2 p.m. and Grammy nominated zydeco and cajun music band, Lisa Haley and the Zydekats from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. featuring L.A. Accordion Diva Gee Rabe on piano accordion. Four other stages of accordion music will squeeze out a variety of music genres. On stage will include performances by 2009 World Champion Roland-V Digital Accordionist Cory Pesaturo presented by Roland US, Polka Squeeze featuring the “Return of the Chicken Dance,” a Bavarian concert by Bobby Diestch and Latin and folkloric tunes from Roberto Rosa. “The Squeezinator” Jim Gilman will perform a variety of styles and serve as host for a stage which also includes Acid Jazz Standards of Mile 24 band and Old Style Creole music by Fontenot and Pappion Band. The public can bring their accordions to these sessions as well as participate in open jam sessions. Free storage is available. Ukulady and her toy accordion Squeezaly will entertain and conduct toy accordion jam sessions in the Imagination Station children’s area. | Dear folks - I have an old one-row box, tuned in D, possibly made by a German company named SCHULZ & GUNDLACH, from Berlin. That's the logo on the instrument, though it may be the logo of a retailer rather than the maker. The accordion is in very good shape, and may actually be as old as a hundred years! I bought it in a shop in Devon, England three years ago, and had it carefully restored by a great repairman from Odal, Norway; Willy Rustad. If anybody knows anything about this type of instrument, I would be very happy to be updated. Mr Rustad thought it might be as old as from the 1890s, but we don't know. The serial number is 733. The box has brass reeds, and a bright lovely tone. It has four bass buttons. It is made from a red type of wood, and very well crafted. Tor E Bekken Email: drbekken@myspace.com |
