| World Accordion Day, an initiative of the Confederation Internationale des Accordeonistes (CIA) will be held from 8am Sunday 5th May to 8am Monday 6th May (French time) broadcast on the Deschamps Channel and World Accordion Day websites. World Accordion Day will be co-presented by Frederic Deschamps and Grayson Masefield assisted by Director Mike Rossi.   Bajan, Akkordeon und Harmonika waren in Russland immer beliebt und populär. Und an den Fronten des Großen Vaterländischen Krieges, bei Festen wie Hochzeiten waren sie unersetzliche Begleiter im russischen Alltagsleben. 1948 erhielten die Volksinstrumente einen neuen Impuls, als am Gnessin-Institut (heute Akademie) ein Lehrstuhl eröffnet wurde. Die ehemaligen Volksmusiker bekamen endlich die Gelegenheit zur Ausbildung auf einer Stufe mit Pianisten und Geigern. In allen Teilen des großen Landes eröffneten Konservatorien und Hochschule Lehrstühle für das neue akademische Instrument, und seit dieser Zeit geben die Bajanisten/Akkordeonisten Russlands bei den prestigeträchtigsten internationalen Wettbewerben den Ton an. Heute schreiben die bedeutendsten Komponisten Russlands für Bajan/Akkordeon: S. Gubaidulina, A. Cholminow, R. Ledenjow, E. Podgaits, M. Bronner, A. Schurbin u.a. Bajanisten/Akkordeonisten spielen in den größten Konzertsälen dieser Welt. Angesichts der allgemeinen komplizierten Wirtschaftssituation im Land und den sich daraus ergebenden Problemen für das kulturelle Leben hat nun der Lehrstuhl für Bajan und Akkordeon an der Gnessin- Musikakademie alle Kollegen im ganzen Land aufgerufen, den Allrussischen Tag des Bajans, das Akkordeons und der Harmonika zu gründen, der an jedem 3. Samstag im März (heuer bereits zum vierten Mal) durchgeführt werden soll. Es ist somit auch jeweils der Startschuss zum „World Accordion Day“ des Akkordeon-Weltverbandes „Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes“, der jährlich am 6. Mai abgehalten wird. | 25th May 2013 Ardingly College, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH17 6SQ Mastery of the bandoneon is achieved by establishing habits of practice which develop a natural and relaxed physical relationship with the instrument. This allows us to express musical ideas fluently while avoiding strain and injury. The purpose of the bootcamp is to develop this approach in relation to all of the main elements of bandoneon playing. Julian Rowlands, who will be leading the workshop, is a bandoneonist, composer and arranger. He has performed on BBC television and radio and at many of the UK's major theatre and concert venues. He co-created the score for the hit West End show "Midnight Tango" and has performed in it since its inception. He is a member of Tango Siempre and director of Orquesta Tangazo, who are performing at the festival on Saturday night. Mai 2013 im Wiener Volkstheater verliehenPreise werden nur in rein österreichischen Kategorien vergeben Die österreichische U-Musiklandschaft wird in acht Genres aufgeteilt. Für jedes Genre gibt es eine fachkompetente Jury. Die Genre-Jurymitglieder nominieren Album, Song und Künstler mittels passwortgeschütztem Online-Nominierungssystem. Die fünf meistgenannten Alben bzw. Songs über alle Genres hinweg sind die fünf Nominierten für Song des Jahres und Album des Jahres. Die zwei Bestseller sind in der jeweiligen Genre-Kategorie fix nominiert. Die Auswertung erfolgt durch media control austria.   Dutch jazz singer Caro Emerald’s latest recording, ‘Tangled Up’, is set against a fabulous tango accompaniment, featuring bandoneon player Carel Kraayenhof. ‘Tangled Up’ is a hit single release taken from her 2013 studio album ‘The Shocking Miss Emerald’.Caro Emerald (real name Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw, 1981), debuted in 2009 as a recording artist, and has since built up a huge following in many countries. She was trained as a jazz vocalist at the Amsterdam Conservatory, graduating in 2005. Carel Kraayenhof is one of Europe’s leading bandoneon players. He came to prominence in 2002 when he played at the royal wedding of Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Argentinean Maxima Zorreguieta. |

| Roma 25 maggio 2013 "Le possibilità armoniche dei bassi" “Che accordi ci metto”, "quando escludere o tenere le terze ai bassi". Queste e molte altre, sono le domande che lo stage affronterà. La qualità diatonica dello strumento permette infatti di generare decine e decine di accordi che possono essere suonati per accompagnare in modo più suggestivo e ricco la linea del canto. Non solo. I bassi possono essere usati in modo “cantato” o ritmicamente asimmetrico, infrangendo la rigida scansione ritmica, per rendere più dinamico un determinato passaggio o per aggiungere sincope laddove viene richiesta. I bassi possono essere usati per sovrapposizione e in congiunzione con la tastiera generando modulazioni ed effetti impensabili. E allora, andiamo oltre i confini dell’organetto! Destinatari Lo stage si rivolge a coloro che suonano l’organetto a 8, 12 o 18 bassi, e che desiderano ampliare il repertorio e migliorare il loro stile esecutivo.  Schwoich/Scheffau. „Tradition trifft Moderne“ – das ist das Motto des Tiroler Knöpferl-Harmonika-Treffens, das heuer zum zweiten Mal über die Bühne geht. Nach dem großen Erfolg im letzten Jahr ist die Veranstaltung diesmal auf zwei Tage ausgelegt. Am 7. und 8. Juni trifft man sich im Schwoicher Stöfflbräu und auf der Walleralm in Scheffau zum gemeinsamen Musizieren.Freunde der „Steirischen“ sollten sich diesen Termin wieder rot im Kalender anstreichen. Den Auftakt gibt´s heuer am 7. Juni in der gemütlichen Gaststube des Schwoicher „Stöfflbräu“. Stargast des Abends ist der holländische Harmonika-Virtuose Loui Herinx, der an diesem Abend sein neues Griffschriftheft „He Loui, spiel uns eins“ („Oberkrainer-Musik für die Steirische“) präsentiert. Mit dabei auch das „Knöpferl Ensemble“ mit den beiden Autoren und Musikern Peter Thurner und Josef Rupprechter. Als weiteres Highlight des Abends steht eine Modenschau des Kufsteiner Trachtenhauses „Stolzer“ auf dem Programm. Am nächsten Tag geht´s wieder auf die Alm. Um 10 Uhr treffen sich die Teilnehmer am Eiberg, von dort geht´s zu Fuß zur „Stöffl-Hütte“ von Peter Bichler, wo das große Harmonika-Treffen in Szene geht. Ab 12 Uhr gibt es ein lockeres Programm, es wird frei musiziert, Weisenbläser der Musikkapelle Kufstein, die Gruppen „Alpentschäss“, „Unterlandpower“ und die urigen „Surfassl Buam“ sor-gen für Stimmung, und ein Höhepunkt des Tages ist der Auftritt des Kufsteiner Trachtenvereines „D´ Koasara“. Natürlich haben die Teilnehmer auch wieder die Gelegenheit, ihr Können vor großem Publikum zu präsen-tieren. Bei Schlechtwetter findet die Veranstaltung in der urigen Tenne des Schwoicher Stöfflbräu statt. Durch das Programm führt jeweils Hermann Nageler. Freier Eintritt!   Whiskey River is a rocking, Louisiana-style Zydecajun band performing Red-Hot Swamp Music and Blues from the Bayous. Just add a taste of Good Rocking Country, some retro-style, Gretsch-fuelled Rock'n'Roll "et voila; c'est si bon!".The band is led by Aidan Sheehan, his Lafayette "Clarence Junior Martin" Cajun accordion and "Seydel" Blues harmonicas plus Martin Blake on a beautiful white "Gretsch" and a "Fender Swamptone B-bender" guitar. Add whiskey-soaked vocal harmonies, heartfelt lyrics delivered in both English and Cajun-French and you're right there, back on the Bayou boys... Their swamp-rocking rhythms are augmented by Ted Bunting (blistering Zydeco sax), Dave Wood (wild "Psy-de-co" fiddle) and a driving rhythm section featuring Dennis Schiavon (aka Vince Santini) on bass and Richard Robinson and his "Funky-licious N'awlins-style" drums. Occasionally, our good friend Li'l Queenie is our "Special Guest" playing her fabulous Zydeco Frottoir.
