| Der Alpen Grand Prix ist ein Musikwettbewerb der „Schlager“ und „Volksmusik“ der seit 1993 jährlich in Südtirol stattfindet. Bis 1996 nahmen ausschließlich nur Interpreten aus Südtirol teil. Seit 1997 ist der Alpen Grand Prix International und Teilnehmer aus Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Italien, Slowenien, Kroatien, Frankreich, Niederlande, Polen, Ungarn und USA haben daran bereits teilgenommen. Die Gesangssprache ist Deutsch. Der Alpen Grand Prix ein Internationaler Musikwettbewerb für Interpreten, Komponisten, Texter, Produzenten und Verlage. In den letzten Jahren gab es beim Alpen Grand Prix getrennte Wertungen für die Bereiche Schlager und Volksmusik. Der Alpen Grand Prix zählt zu einem der bedeutendsten Musikwettbewerb in der Sparte Schlager und Volksmusik. Dass dieser Internationale Musikwettbewerb an Beliebtheit und Wichtigkeit immer mehr zunimmt, bestätigen die vielen Bewerbungen von bekannten Komponisten, Textern und Produzenten. Kevin Friedrich Debuts World’s First Kauri Accordion - New Zealandby Heather Masefield |

 New York accordionist Kevin Friedrich realized his dream of producing the world’s first Kauri (New Zealand native tree) accordion when a joint project between New Zealand and Finland produced an instrument combining a Finnish folk accordion culture instrument with the magnificent giant and ancient Kauri tree of New Zealand.After shipping some of the rare wood to Finland, Artisan Aaro Luukinen (teacher of accordion making at the Ikaalinen College of Crafts and Design - IKATA) handcrafted three stunning instruments dubbed K1 (to be housed in Dargaville, New Zealand), K2 (for Ikaalinen, Finland) and K3 to be housed in New York. Aaro’s wife Henriikka designed the three grills for the instruments which were hand carved by Aaro and named as K1 – Birth, K2 – Departure and K3 – Growth. The unveiling took place on March 24 at a sold out concert at the Lighthouse Function center in Dargaville with the help of the Dargaville Primary School Kapa Haka Group and other musicians, to give the instrument a traditional Maori welcome home. The annual fundraising concert of the Dargaville museum featured Kevin with his many musician friends including acclaimed International vocalist Lionel Reekie as well as the debut performance of the Auckland Accordion Symphonietta under the direction of Lionel Reekie, The Dargaville Tamburitza Orchestra (picture above with Kevin Friedrich), Maiadean and Xena Martin (Violin and Cello), Nolene Osbaldiston (Piano), Pippa Howes and Mat Watson (Flute and Piano), Alexandra Reekie (Accordion), Take 6 Vocal Ensemble, the Ben Emmett Reunion Accordions Ensemble (BEA) and Barbara Adams (Narrator). The concert concluded with the Kaipara Orchestra combining all the instrumentalists and vocalists from the concert. The beautiful two row Kauri instrument, rich in sonority and showcasing the gorgeous blond and precious Kauri wood wowed the audience and will now be proudly featured as the entrance exhibit in the Dargaville Museum which also houses the rare and permanent ‘Accordion Gems’ accordion exhibition. The oldest living Kauri Tree, Tane Mahuta (Lord of the Forest) is found just north of Dargaville and stands some 2,500 years old! Picture left with Kevin and the Kauri accordion - hard to believe Kevin is over 6 ft tall when you see him pictured with this huge ancient kauri tree! The log from which the Kauri accordion was made, was one from the same forest, and after falling, possibly some hundreds of years ago, ended up washed out to the coast line beach, where it was found by Arthur Miach, who then donated the wood precious and protected wood to the Kauri accordion project.  Zum fünften Mal lädt der Niederländer Servais Haanen Musiker aus aller Herren Länder, die kulturelle Vielfalt des Akkordeons zu zelebrieren.Und einmal mehr taucht die Akkordeonale ein in die Klangwelten eines Weltbürgers unter den Instrumenten, fernab vom einschlägigen Klischee gemütlicher volkstümelnder Biederkeit. Hier bekommt man seinen prallen musikalischen Reichtum zu hören: von traditionell bis zeitgenössisch, folkloristisch, exotisch, virtuos und temperamentvoll – ein Füllhorn stilistischer Formen und klanglicher Möglichkeiten. Dieses Jahr führt die musikalische Reise von West-, Ost- und Südeuropa in den nahen und fernen Osten. Ungerade Rhythmen aus Griechenland treffen auf mikrotonalen Seelenbalsam aus der Türkei, chinesische Hirtenmusik und Peking Oper begegnen polnischem Tasten-Adrenalin und niederländischer Klangästhetik, umrahmt von Rahmentrommel, Darbuka und Hackbrett. Politische Differenzen erscheinen unwichtig, Grenzen werden beiseite geschoben, wenn der frische globale Wind aus fünf Akkordeonbälgen die Kulturen vermischt und die Musiker in der gemeinsamen Sprache der Musik kommunizieren, was sich besonders in den Ensemble-Stücken erleben lässt. Mit trockenem Humor, Anekdoten über die Musiker und allerlei Wissenswertem über die Instrumente und Stile rundet Servais Haanen das Programm ab.  Die Amadeus Austrian Music Awards 2013 werden am 1. Mai 2013 im Wiener Volkstheater verliehenPreise werden nur in rein österreichischen Kategorien vergeben Die österreichische U-Musiklandschaft wird in acht Genres aufgeteilt. Für jedes Genre gibt es eine fachkompetente Jury. Die Genre-Jurymitglieder nominieren Album, Song und Künstler mittels passwortgeschütztem Online-Nominierungssystem. Die fünf meistgenannten Alben bzw. Songs über alle Genres hinweg sind die fünf Nominierten für Song des Jahres und Album des Jahres. Die zwei Bestseller sind in der jeweiligen Genre-Kategorie fix nominiert. Die Auswertung erfolgt durch media control austria. Die restlichen drei Nominierten pro Genre ergeben sich aus den von den Genre-Jurymitgliedern meistgenannten Künstlern. Das Publikum wählt aus den Nominierten mittels Online-Voting die Sieger in den einzelnen Kategorien.  L’Associazione “Grifoli Club” di Offida (AP), con il patrocinio del Comune di Offida e in collaborazione con l'Associazione Musicale Italiana Strumenti ad Ancia, Diatonici (AMISAD) di Maiolati Spontini (AN), organizza il9° FESTIVAL DELL’ADRIATICO – GARA DI ORGANETTO. Alla manifestazione che si svolgerà il giorno 21 aprile 2013 nei locali dell’Associazione “Grifoli Club” - via San Lazzaro, 72/a - Offida (AP), (strada Castorano- Borgo Miriam – Offida), vi potranno prendere parte candidati con organetti di qualsiasi tipo e marca. La gara si articolerà nelle seguenti categorie: - Cat. A fino a 12 anni (nati dal 2001 in poi) - Cat. B fino a 15 anni (nati dal 1998 in poi) - Cat. C fino a 18 anni (nati dal 1995 in poi) - Cat. D senza limiti di età Tutti i concorrenti sono tenuti a presentare due brani a libera scelta della durata complessiva non superiore agli 6 (sei) minuti. Il giudizio della giuria è inappellabile: essa ha la facoltà di abbreviare la durata delle esecuzioni, di richiedere eventuali riascolti, di deliberare classifiche ex-aequo e di non assegnare i premi qualora non vengano riscontrati i requisiti indispensabili. La classifica dei concorrenti sarà stilata con la seguente valutazione: - da 95 a 100/100 1° Premio - da 90 a 94/100 2° Premio - da 85 a 89/100 3° Premio Le graduatorie saranno comunicate al termine delle audizioni di tutte le categorie. | Amelia 27 aprile 2013 Fabrizio de André per organetto La musica e le canzoni di Fabrizio de André riflettono sovente gli stilemi e le strutture della musica popolare: le mazurche, i valzer, le tarantelle. Non solo. L’influenza della musica francese e della canzone d’autore transalpina è un altro importante aspetto dell’estetica musicale di De André. Questo ne fa uno degli autori più adatti a un lavoro di trascrizione per organetto, uno strumento la cui sonorità sposa perfettamente le melodie del poeta genovese. Josh Baca & Max Baca - Texas Folklife Big Squeeze Jam.
 The Big Squeeze Auditions are over and above is some video of the Jam also held. These videos were released by Aaron Salinas (diatonic), Josh Baca (diatonic) and Max Baca (guitar) on the 7th March 2013."The Big Squeeze" is Texas Folklife's sixth annual statewide contest for young accordion players. The contestants, ages 21 and under, receive prizes as well as performance opportunities, mentoring and special recognition through their participation in the contest. Texas Folklife conducts live auditions, master classes and mini-performances around the state as part of this program. The semi-finalists are announced on April 5, 2013 and the semi-finals competition is held on April 20 in Austin at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. The Finals are on Saturday, June 1 in Houston during the Accordion Kings & Queens Concert at the Miller Outdoor Theater. |

 Riccardo Tesi, non solo un organettista ma soprattutto unmusicista che compone per organetto. Dagli esordi decisamente folk nel 1978 al fianco di Caterina Bueno, la storia musicale di Tesi va dalla tradizione toscana al confronto con linguaggi musicali eterogenei: la musica basca, inglese, francese e malgascia, il jazz, il liscio e la canzone d'autore. Uno stage per apprendere come nasce una composizione per organetto, come impostarne l'analisi formale, come sfruttare a fondo le potenzialità espressive dello strumento. Attraverso l'insegnamento di due brani per organetto, intraprenderemo un affascinante percorso condotto da uno dei più sapienti organettisti italiani. Lo stage si rivolge a coloro che suonano l’organetto e che desiderano ampliare il repertorio e migliorare il loro stile esecutivo.  Süddeutsches Konzertinatreffen (Frühjahr)in Wartaweil am Ammersee 19. bis 21. April 2013 Seit 2001 finden zweimal jährlich die Süddeutschen Konzertinatreffen statt. Zunächst traf sich der Freundeskreis an wechselnden Orten, seit 2003 ist die BN-Ökostation in Wartaweil/Ammersee das Quartier der Wahl. Eine frisch renovierte alte Villa mit großem Park, herrliche Landschaft und wichtig: Keine Nachbarn, die man stören könnte... Da ein beträchtlicher Teil der Teilnehmer aus dem nördlichen Süddeutschland kam, wurde das Herbsttreffen ab 2010 auf die Tannenburg bei Schwäbisch Hall verlegt. Mit ca. 15 TeilnehmerInnen hat das Konzertinatreffen eine recht überschaubare Größe und das soll auch so sein. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf dem gemeinsamen Musizieren (z.B. die Stücke auf der Melodienseite). Allerdings hat sich das Treffen auch zu einer Anlaufstelle für Anfänger entwickelt, so dass wir bei Bedarf für Deutsche Konzertina und Anglo Anfängerkurse anbieten. Interessenten, die noch nicht wissen, welche Konzertina sie kaufen sollen, bilden die dritte Besuchergruppe. Hier können sie die verschiedenen Typen sehen, hören, antesten und sich beraten lassen. Deutsche Konzertina, Anglos, Englische und Duet sind hier die gängigen Instrumente, aber auch Chemnitzer und Carlsfelder sind regelmäßig vertreten. Einige Teilnehmer haben auch andere Instrumente dabei, was das Musizieren bereichert. Deswegen sind auch MusikerInnen mit anderen Instrumenten ausdrücklich eingeladen, obwohl es ein Konzertinatreffen ist! Das Treffen lebt von der Musik, die die Teilnehmer mitbringen. Ich habe einen erfahrenen Folkmusiker gewinnen können, der den Laden musikalisch zusammenhält: Johannes Friesenegger alias Frederik Finn. Allerdings ist er kein Konzertinaspieler, sondern Harfinist.________________________________________ Ökostation Wartaweil Wartaweil liegt im S-Bahn-Bereich von München. Die S5 hat ihre Endstation in Herrsching und fährt ab München Hbf im 20-Minuten-Takt. Harrison Vallis is 12 years old and has been playing for a couple of years now. Recently he got a new Roland FR18 diatonic accordion. In der Dreierbesetzung Claudia Koch, Hardy Reich und Andreas Rohde entstanden mehrere Programme mit jiddischen Liedern. Es folgten Reisen zu den Stätten ostjüdischen Geisteslebens in Polen, Rumänien, Ungarn und eine eingehende Beschäftigung mit der jiddischen Sprache, Geschichte und Kultur. Im November 1987 wurde die Gruppe Preisträger bei den 9.Tagen des Chansons in Frankfurt/Oder. 1988 kamen der Klarinettist Jan Hermerschmidt und ein Bassist zur Gruppe. Von da an wandte sich AUFWIND verstärkt der Klesmer-Musik zu. Neben zahlreichen Konzerten im Inland gastierte die Gruppe in folgenden Ländern: Israel, USA, Kanada, Polen, Frankreich, Portugal, Argentinien, Chile, der Türkei, Österreich, Belgien, Italien, der Slowakei, der Schweiz und den Niederlanden. | Ein Film ueber das populärste alpenländische Musikinstrument Die Steirische oder diatonische Harmonika ist eines der wichtigsten Instrumente in der alpenländischen Volks- und Unterhaltungsmusik. Diese Film-Dokumentation mit einer Laufzeit von 40 Minuten ist eine Hommage an dieses Instrument, das die Musizierpraxis in Mitteleuropa entscheidend geprägt hat. Präsentiert wird dieser Film von Franz Posch, dem beliebten Moderator der ORF-Fernseh-Live-Sendung »Mei liabsteWeis«. Dr. Franz Posch spielt selbst seit seinem 4. Lebensjahr die Steirische Harmonika und ist ein exzellenter Experte für dieses Instrument. Regie führt bei diesem Film ORF-Regisseur Helmut Strunz, der über 50 Fernsehdokumentationen als Redakteur, Drehbuchautor und Regisseur gestaltet hat und seit 16 Jahren die große Fernseh-Live- Sendung »Der Steirische Harmonikawettbewerb « leitet. Initiator und Förderer dieses Filmes ist der Grazer Harmonikaexperte Wolfgang Wittigayer.  Morality is Dead. Long Live Pleasure! Either Or stands out within the extensive Tiger Lillies’ discography for more than one reasons: It‘s the first out of thirty three Tiger Lillies’ albums without the contribution of original band member Adrian Huge, who for the later half of 2012 has been replaced by drummer Mike Pickering. It’s one of the weirdest sounding Tiger Lillies’ albums, with multi-instrumentalist David Coulter (The Pogues, Tom Waits, Radiohead, Boy George) enriching Martyn Jacques’ music with his banjo, uke and violin, nose flute, jew’s saw, weeping saws, maracas, ominchord and clackamore. It’s the only Tiger Lillies album that delves into the world of Philosophy and dares to verbalize its quests in a new, uncompromising language. The album title quotes Danish philosopher Søren Aabye Kierkegaard’s 1834 Either/Or two volume publication. The songs are mostly inspired by Either’s last section, The Seducer’s Diary. Echoing the voice of Kierkegaard, the Tiger Lillies speak in their own beautifully blasphemous language about a world where pleasure is the highest good and its pursuit is encouraged regardless of means and consequences. The notion of ‘sin’ is put into question and all evil deeds are justified as long as they give meaning to people’s existence. The idea of Either Or was first introduced to The Tiger Lillies’ singer/songwriter Martyn Jacques by Danish Producer Lars Seeberg in 2008; a very ambitious project from the start, Either Or took a good four years to come together and it wasnt until early 2013 that both the album and the show (a co-production of Odense Teater, Theatre NoDomain and Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre) were up and running.
