 SENTIERI ACUSTICI 2014:Scuola elementare di Maresca: 20, 21, 22 agosto (9,00-13,00) e 23 agosto (9,00-11,00) In questo seminario verranno studiate nuove tecniche e stili musicali per organetto, con particolare attenzione all’utilizzo di questo strumento nelle musiche improvvisate e nella nuova composizione. Le tecniche studiate (bassi composti e variazioni ai bassi, accompagnamento e ritmica con accordi alla mano destra, abbellimenti, seconde voci e polifonie, improvvisazione) saranno applicate a brani tradizionali e di nuova composizione. Durante lo stage sarà effettuata un’attività di collaborazione con la classe di violino di Nicolò Bottasso nella quale si lavorerà sull’interazione in´duo tra organetto e violino, partendo dalla musica tradizionale per arrivare alle musiche improvvisate. REQUISITI DI ACCESSO: Il corso è rivolto a tutti i livelli (si richiede almeno un anno di pratica dell’organetto). Ai partecipanti si consiglia di portare un registratore, una penna USB e carta pentagrammata. Non è necessario saper leggere la musica per partecipare al corso. ETÀ MINIMA: 10 anni e discreta padronanza dello strumento. Simone Bottasso, organettista e flautista di spicco della scena tradizionale italiana, affianca all’intensa attività concertistica la didattica dell’organetto e della musica d’insieme in corsi, stages e master class. Con una solida preparazione classica e jazz alle spalle, è interessato alla contaminazione, all’evoluzione del linguaggio tradizionale e alle possibilità di inserire il proprio strumento in nuovi contesti. Dal 2013 vive a Rotterdam dove si sta specializzando in composizione Jazz presso il Codarts. È musicista, compositore ed arrangiatore degli Abnoba, giovane band di musica folk-funk-jazz. Con il Duo Bottasso, i Folk Messengers e Stygiens propone spettacoli di musica di bal-folk. Dal 2009 collabora con Riccardo Tesi e Filippo Gambetta nel gruppo Triotonico. È direttore artistico del progetto orchestrale Folkestra&Folkoro, Ensemble composta da 50 musicisti e cantanti che propone uno spettacolo di world music con arrangiamenti e composizioni originali ispirati dalla musica tradizionale italiana ed europea. | 17.-23. August 2014 in Thal bei Graz Auch dieses Jahr finden die Harmonika- Schnupper-Lern- und Spieltag statt. Sie werden in der Landwirtschaftlichen Fachschule Grottenhof-Hardt untergebracht sein. Der Sinn des “Seminars“ soll sein, eine Woche mit Volksmusik zu verbringen und mit der Kultur der Weststeiermark vertraut zu werden. Nicht nur der Anfänger, sondern auch der Könner kann sich von einem ausgebildeten Fachpersonal unterrichten lassen, Gedanken austauschen und neue Bekanntschaften mit Gleichgesinnten knüpfen, sowie Erholung in der schönen Steiermark erleben. Ein durch die Jahre entwickelter Aspekt dieser Volksmusikwoche ist auch der, dass die Teilnehmer aus dem gesamten deutschsprachigen Raum kommen und ihre Kultur mitbringen.  The 2014 All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil, organized by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCE), takes place in the town of Sligo in west of the Irish Republic, from August 10th to 17th. The Fleadh Cheoil is a huge competitive festival of Irish music, song and dance, with approximately 10,000 competitors and performers, including sections involving large numbers of accordionists, melodeon, concertina and harmonica players, as well as many ceili bands, accordion and marching bands. Accordion-based performers involved include The Mairtin O’Connor Band, Mick Foster (of Foster & Allen fame), Matt Cunningham, Dermot Byrne, Innisfree Ceili Band, Darty Ceili Band, Heather Breeze Ceili Band, to name but a few. The first half of the festival is taken up by Scoil Éigse: tuition classes (for all ages and abilities in traditional Irish music) for piano accordion, diatonic button accordion, Anglo concertina, and many other instruments used in Irish traditional music. This is a festival with accordion in so many bands, playing in so many places at the festival. | Sono ormai 18 anni che la piazza principale di Bedonia (PR) ospita in Agosto quest’importante manifestazione denominata “FISARMONICHE SOTTO LE STELLE”. E’ stata fondata da un gruppo di amici con la passione per la musica d’ascolto e da ballo, nonchè la forte ammirazione per la fisarmonica. Già da subito ha dato a loro grande entusiasmo, perchè ha visto l’apprezzamento da parte del pubblico unendo divertimento e cultura. Ogni anno con tanto impegno e incontrando non poche difficoltà questa manifestazione è andata sempre più crescendo,sia dal punto di vista della varietà dello spettacolo, in quanto sono sempre più numerosi i professionisti che arrivano da ogni parte d’Italia e anche dall’estero, e anche dal pubblico che incrementa ogni anno. Si esibiscono fisarmonicisti di varie età “dai bambini agli adulti senza limite d’età”, sia dilettanti che professionisti.In apertura di serata si esibisce un’orchestra spettacolo che fa da introduzione alla rassegna, a metà serata avviene l’esibizione di un gruppo Tirolese che presentano la musica delle proprie origini, a seguire avvengono: la premiazione di un’artista “PREMIO ALLA CARRIERA”, la consegna “PREMIO IN MEMORIA”, ad un’artista scomparso. | Cajun | Zydeco | Acadiens Showcase and Concert August 10, 2014 The TD Kitchener Blues Festival presents its first ever Cajun | Zydeco | Acadiens Showcase at the Businesses of Downtown Kitchener Tent Stage, Sunday August 10th with a day-long celebration of the Acadiens and francophone lineage of this branch of blues/roots music. The event will include Mardi Gras style decorations and beads during the day, Cajun themed foods, and a mixture of Canadian and international musicians culminating in a ticketed Closing Concert featuring the multiple Grammy award winning Cajun group, BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet. The lively atmosphere of the Mardi Gras theme will draw an enthusiastic and energetic audience. Cajun/Acadiens music with its strong francophone roots emerged out of Eastern Atlantic Canada, and follows the expulsion in the 1700′s of many of Les Acadiens out of Canada south to Louisiana. This presentation promises to be both entertaining and educational. The showcase begins with the popular Gospel community breakfast at 10:30am, reminiscent of this New Orleans tradition with the musical talents of nine- time Maple Blues Award winners Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley. This is followed up by performances by Toronto-based band Swamperella, formed 15 year ago to honor the Cajun music tradition, world music guitarist Kevin Breit, America’s Zydeco Sweetheart Rosie Ledet and the Zydeco Playboys from Louisiana and concluding with our ticketed Sunday Closing Concert. This ticketed Concert features the Otis Taylor Band whose adventurous sound balances the modern world with echoes of ancient Africa, Appalachia and more and whose instrumentation featuring fiddle and banjo connects the dots between the blues and Cajun styles. The headliner for the ticketed Sunday Concert is multiple Grammy Award winner BeauSoleil avec Michal Doucet – the granddaddy of all Cajun bands. They take the rich Cajun traditions of Louisiana and artfully blend elements of zydeco, New Orleans jazz, Tex-Mex, country, blues and more into a satisfying musical recipe. The sextet transcends the dancehall, possessing the ability to transform nearly any traditional Cajun, Creole, or French tune into high art while preserving a clear sonic bloodline back to its roots.
